This was the Bedford when it came into our street Big holes at the backside where the back-window has been. There were no lights at the backside.
The arrival of the Bedford in Drachten
This is the Bedford in the front of our home. This picture is taken one day after we arrived in the street. When you know the weight of these bus, you can know that we had to carry it on a car-ambulance.
But not me. I have a Transporter, you know. At tuesday-evening the 11th of june of 2002 we have driven the Bedford from Finsterwolde to Drachten. This is a distance of about 80 km. Some times we had to stop to cool down the engine of the Transporter. The speed was about 50km/hr on the Highway! Everytime when I saw a policeman on his motorbike, I thought this would be the end of the trip. But everything went ok and after a trip of about 3 hours we were at home, just before dark.
